Grace bowls at Scotty Classic
Grace's bowling teams continued their seasons at the Scotty Classic over the weekend.
The Lancers bowled against a large field with 21 teams on the men's side and 17 on the women, consisting mostly of schools from Indiana and Michigan.
The men's team totaled 5,682 pins across the day to finish 21st overall.
Erik Haegeland was Grace's top bowler, averaging 173.8 pins for his four games with a high game of 203. Corbin Payne was not far behind at 172.0 with his score of 183, and Braydon Kunz averaged 155.5.
The women amassed 5,083 pins to place 17th as a team.
Lilly Kelly and Laura Martinez combined to lead the women's squad; they knocked down 609 and 608 pins respectively, averaging 152 pins per game.
Cheyenne Clouse averaged 134 pins during her four games, and Rebecca Lewis was not far behind at 126 pins.
Grace has one final tournament remaining on the schedule for its inaugural varsity season. The Lancers will compete in the Crossroads League Championship on March 4 in Indianapolis at Royal Pin Western.
