Bryant Smith Named HCAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week
For the second time this season, Manchester University sophomore guard Bryant Smith (West Lafayette, Ind., Harrison) has been named as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Monday, January 23.

For the week, Smith averaged 27.5 points per game, helping lead the Spartans to a pair of conference victories.
On Wednesday night, Smith scored 20 points on the road at Bluffton University, helping Manchester to a 65-47 victory.
Smith followed Wednesday's performance by finishing with a career-high 35 points in 39 minutes of action in a 84-73 victory at home against the Earlham College Quakers. Smith shot 9-17 from the field, 5-9 from three-point range, and 12-14 from the free throw line during Saturday's contest. Smith also added 1 block and 3 steals against the Quakers.
Smith currently leads the conference in three-point field goals per game with 53 total three-pointers so far this season and is second in scoring, averaging 18.8 points per game.
Winners of three straight, Manchester men's basketball is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday, January 25. The Spartans will travel to Transylvania to take on the Pioneers in a mid-week HCAC doubleheader. The MU women's team will tip-off first against Transylvania at 1:00 p.m. with the men to follow at 3:00 p.m.
