Grace enters final day of tournament down two strokes
With 18 holes to play in the NCCAA National Championship, Grace's women's golf team is within two strokes of the leader, after turning in a 314 on day two of NCCAA tournament.
Despite improving on their round one score by 13 strokes, the Lady Lancers were leapfrogged by the Bethel Pilots and will enter the final day of the tournament trailing 641 to 639.
"The girls played well today but we lost a little ground to Bethel who played an excellent round of golf today," Grace head coach Denny Duncan said. "I feel good about our position and look forward to round three tomorrow."
Summer Stillson once again carded the lowest score for Grace (75) improving by two strokes from Monday's score. Stillson remains deadlocked atop the individual leaderboard with Maria Pardo Victori as both players have had identical scores through the first two rounds.
After being just one of three players to break 80 in the opening round, Lucy Young maintained her spot in sole possession of third with a score of 78.
Grace May moved into the top five with a mark of 77 cutting eight strokes off of her score from Monday.
The fourth Lady Lancer currently in the top 10 is Brette Hanavan after totaling 84. Carolyn Pacocha carded a 93 for Grace.
The final round of the three-day tournament will tee off tomorrow morning and will conclude with the crowning of the 2022 NCCAA National Champion.
