Smith named CoSIDA Academic All-America
Kyle Smith of Grace's track and field team picked up a distinguished honor when he was named CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America®.
CoSIDA honors deserving student-athletes for both athletic and academic achievements. Student-athletes must maintain a GPA of at least 3.30 and are voted through district and national rounds.
Smith boasts a 3.94 GPA as a psychology major. His final season as a Lancer was a memorable one.
He garnered four NAIA All-American honors across the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2022, placing third in the outdoor 800-meter race and the 4x800 relay.
During the indoor season he finished third in the 4x800 and fourth in the distance medley relay.
The Lancers repeated as the NCCAA Outdoor Track and Field champions, and the men's team ended the year ranked No. 8 for the NAIA Program of the Year by USTFCCCA.
Smith graduates Grace with his name etched on eight different records across the indoor/outdoor school record book.
