Lancers sweep Eagles at NCCAA Nationals
For the second straight day, Grace's men's tennis team registered a sweep at the 2022 NCCAA National Championships.
The Lancers downed Judson 4-0 on Wednesday at the Mobile Tennis Center to continue its perfect play.
Grace has one more pool play match remaining; the Lancers will take on Asbury on Thursday at 10 a.m. A win on Thursday would send Grace to the national championship match on Friday at 10 a.m.
The doubles' point was a hard-earned one. Ramiro Candia and Pablo Gregori registered a 6-4 victory at No. 3 doubles, and Fabricio Galvan teamed up with Nicolas Doria to win at No. 2 doubles (6-2).
The Lancers flexed their muscles on the singles' courts. Facundo Paredes was almost flawless at No. 1 singles, winning 6-1, 6-0.
Gregori and Candia picked up their second victories of the day in singles; Gregori won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 singles, and Candia won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 to secure the sweep.
The Lancers are in pursuit of a repeat national championship, having claimed the 2021 NCCAA title in Alabama.
